Crunch Time

Crunch Time

It’s Crunch Time! This is Thursday, our first job starts Friday evening. What to do? Well…..make window/popout frames, install said frames, install counter top for the oven, install oven, install fridge, (Yes! We bought a fridge! Got delivered Wednesday. All the electrical also went in Wednesday.), install all the gas plumbing for the oven….Oh, and start cooking, so we actually have something to feed people on Friday… 🙂

More Phase 2 & Phase 4 Painting….

More Phase 2 & Phase 4 Painting….

Ok, so maybe phases weren’t the best way to categorize. 🙂 But here’s some more construction, and the inside is painted! It’s white, so it doesn’t look all that different in the photos, but it’s nice in person.

The curves on the side are re-purposed from steel drums that used to contain olive oil, we thought that was pretty perfect! We thought we would have to have them made for us, and then just in the nick of time Tom realized that the steel drums were the perfect diameter, so saved some money, and new materials.

Stay tuned for more, we are working on the plumbing and electrical as you read this, things are changing fast!

Phase 3 – Priming

And now we get to start painting it! This is just the primer, but it sure is looking better already.

Phase 2 – Construction

Now things finally start looking different. We’ve put down the plywood floor, built our extensions on the sides, and reformed the back of the trailer.

Phase One: Deconstruction

Welcome to The Pie Place blog! We’d like to share some photos of our process re-purposing a 90s era stock trailer into a fabulous rolling pizza machine. A lot of the work in the beginning was deconstruction and cleaning and grinding and hammering…lots of loud noises and not a lot to show for it. But go ahead and take a look for yourself!
